Now, I have the incredible opportunity to go to Uganda to study the Bible in a Dicsipleship Training School. I pray that the images, thoughts, and stories you will see here will speak to you, and that God will reveal something special to each and every one who comes across this journal. All the honor and glory to God!

This bookmark is one of my most treasured possessions. While I was in Uganda, my girlfriend was in a different part of Uganda working at a home for children with HIV and AIDS. Although I never met them in person, those children, that ministry, and this bookmark will always have a special place in my heart.

I miss Uganda so much it literally hurts.

I miss Uganda so much it literally hurts.

ssuperpink:

Well, I’m finally home! After a long day of travels, I arrived in Toronto at noon today. I was only able to go home for a few hours though before I had to go back to the airport to catch my plane to Calgary. I have a meeting in Calgary all day tomorrow, and then I finally get to return home.

Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement over the last six months!

I’ll make sure to catch up on posting lots of photos this week.

In love like Christ,

Every since we got back from Outreach we’ve been busy in debrief classes, preparing for graduation, and packing to come home!

Graduation was yesterday, and it was one of the most bittersweet moments of my entire life. It was so liberating to walk across the stage, receive my certificate, and complete my DTS. But at the same time, I had to say goodbye to all of the friends I’ve made during the last six months. Few of the friends I said goodbye to, I will see again; but of the goodbyes were forever. Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life, because in the last six months I’ve made friendships that have been more significant to my life than most I’ve ever had. I guess that’s YWAM culture though…you spend half a year living with people, and growing with people in one of the most influential and developmental periods of your life, and then you have to say goodbye to them and return to your respective country in another hemisphere of the earth.

And now my time remaining in this country is too quickly fleeting. I only have a few days until I board a plane and return home. It’s comparable to when Jesus died, resurrected, and ascended back to heaven, leaving all His disciples behind. They had spent a period of time walking with Him, being taught by Him, and even being sent on their own kind of ‘outreaches’. But when He left, Matthew didn’t return to being a tax collector, and others didn’t return to their homes and fishing boats. They went out into the world and obeyed the Lord’s calling on their lives. They took with them all they had heard and seen Jesus do and everything they learnt, and they let the Spirit lead their newly transformed lives.

In the same way, that’s what we’re all doing this week. Our time of learning is over, but our life of application has just begun. We are all returning to our homes in all different countries, but with a new calling and a new purpose. I haven’t figured out what my life will look like when I get home, but I believe that’s because the Lord doesn’t want me to know yet! In His timing, He’ll reveal his perfect plan for my life to me.

As for my time here before I leave, I’ll be spending it with some of my closest friends I’ve made in this country. We’re currently sitting overlooking the Nile River that we are white water rafting on tomorrow and bungee jumping over today.

I can’t wait to get home and see everyone and everything that I’ve been missing for the last six months!

Thank you all for your encouragement and continuous prayers for me and our team. They’ve truly carried us.

See you all soon!

In love like Christ,

to fix the existing walls, and complete the remainder of the walls

complete the roof

level the ground

paint the front wall
